H1Z1 Will Show Up On PlayStation 4 Shortly! [VIDEO]

Daybreak‘s free-to-play game will approach Sony’s console shortly.

This game has a little troublesome development history – the Battle Royale game first showed up in Steam’s Early Access in January 2015. It was split to two after a year (Just Survive, King of the Kill), with the planned console versions getting halted to have the PC version ready to go by September 2016. The plan didn’t succeed, and H1Z1: King of the Kill dropped its subtitle, reverting to H1Z1, and it FINALLY quit Early Access on February 28 on PC. (The zombie survival Just Survive split off H1Z1, and it still has no release date on the horizon…)

So, the development is troublesome, and that’s kindly put. It’s now going to have a closed beta on PlayStation 4 this weekend. You can sign up for it here. If you are patient, wait until May 22 when the open beta launches. If you have thirty dollars, you can get a bunch of cosmetic items in-game, as well as a dynamic theme for your PlayStation 4.

Quoting Daybreak: „H1Z1 on PlayStation 4 is designed specifically for the console and focuses exclusively on the core elements that make battle royale exciting. The game features a new weapon progression system, fully reworked UI, and new weapons and gear. […] The control scheme for H1Z1 on PS4 has been tailor-made to keep players focused on the action. H1Z1 now features a grab-and-go equipment system, simplifying loot collection and inventory management; a familiar radial weapon menu so players can quickly switch between guns and grenades; and a revamped HUD that delivers vital information at-a-glance. The crafting system has also been removed from the game. The game’s gas pacing has been altered to speed up the play of the match, and the airdrop system has been revamped to keep players moving and invested in fights.

With the new weapon progression mechanics, players only have access to loot six level-one weapons at the start of the match and must strategically decide which airdrops to pursue if they want better level weapons and gear. […] special crates that contain level 2 and level 3 weapons and gear have been hidden throughout the map. […]”

There’s one more sentence that caught our attention. „H1Z1 has been fully optimized for the PlayStation 4 and runs at 60 frames-per-second on PS4 Pro.” We have two questions. What’s the frame rate for the ordinary PlayStation 4? What resolution does the PlayStation 4 Pro have? Also, the game’s website is even more minimalistic than the previous description: „Running at 60 FPS on PS4 Pro.”

So, open beta on May 22. Trailer below. There’s no information about the Xbox One version yet.
