We might get Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 this year… and on Nintendo‘s successful platform, too!

There’s no year without a Call of Duty title, so seeing 2018’s chapter getting rumors isn’t surprising. However, seeing that it might even surface on the Nintendo Switch would be a different story altogether, as it got our attention…

Marcus Sellars, according to WCCFTech, „has leaked other video games related information before official announcements.” He did so again regarding 2018’s Call of Duty on Twitter: „COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble, and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familiar with COD games.”

Let’s analyze this comment a bit. Treyarch will be the developer this year after putting together Black Ops III in 2015. (Before that, they did the second Black Ops in 2012, so sticking with it wouldn’t be surprising…) Porting the game to the Switch would be a major surprise, though, especially if it doesn’t go futuristic (which is what the „boots on the ground” term is meant to mean)!

Of course, this isn’t an official announcement, but if November’s Call of Duty will indeed show up on the Nintendo Switch, it will mean that Activision Blizzard is going to be behind Nintendo. (Then we can ask: Overwatch on Switch when?)
