Half-Life 2: A Mod With Cut Content, Featuring New Locations And Characters!

A serious mod has arrived, and it focuses on the content that Valve decided to cut out of Half-Life 2 by the time it launched.

New locations, characters, and story beats await those who are interested in the mod called Dark Interval. It gathered all known information about what Valve has chopped out of the retail release, and then it was made into a standalone title, not requiring you to own Half-Life 2. It’s just part of a bigger plot, though: you still get eleven maps with a reworked prologue, Kleiner’s Lab also got a facelift, and a new location (Manhack Arcade) also surfaced, where City 17’s citizens can control those Manhacks to kill refugees. Nothing was lifted over from the leaked version of Half-Life 2, though: the developers wanted to make a modern game, and they thought that this approach is the way for them to go.

If you’re curious about the mod, you can download it here. You’ll need Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer, though, but Steam has it for free under Tools. Here are a few screenshots as well – oh well, if we don’t get Half-Life 3, things like Dark Interval has to make do…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
