Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Expansion Might Get Into Trouble!

Something like this shouldn’t happen just two and a half weeks before the release date…

Guerrilla GamesHorizon: Zero Dawn is SUPPOSED to get its only expansion (this information was confirmed on Twitter) on November 7. It’s called The Frozen Wilds. Or maybe it won’t be called as such: on the NeoGAF forums, Sony/Guerrilla’s trademark suspension was revealed, as the name is similar to free-to-play casino games developer Huuuge Games’ „Frozen Wild,” which was also registered earlier (Sony: June 12, Huuuge: May 28).

Two possible solutions can happen: either Sony/Guerrilla will be forced to rename the expansion as Huuuge’s trademark gets registered, or they’ll have to pay the other devs to abandon Frozen Wild.

We don’t know how this conflict will be resolved yet, so we’ll just say that Horizon: Zero Dawn‘s expansion will launch on November 7 with an uncertain name.
