No, this time, it’s not a shooter, but instead, an AAA title in a completely different genre.

On Steam, a demo has surfaced for Sid Meier‘s Civilization VI, which limits the unsure players in a weird fashion before being forced to purchase the game, which is one of the best strategy titles in recent years. If you complete the tutorial, you’ll get to control the Chinese population, led by Qin Shi Huang. Where’s the twist, you ask? There has to be one, right?

Well, the demo ends after 60 (yes, sixty) turns. That’s awkward, because it can end your run as early as thirty minutes after firing the game up, and that time might not be enough to judge the game fairly.

Perhaps it could be a better idea to implement a time limit of say, ninety minutes, and also maybe make a demo for Linux and Mac as well, because it’s only available for Windows. It could be a fair move on Firaxis’ (XCOM) end…
