Fans Want Battlefront III, So They Do It Themselves! [VIDEO]

Don’t underrate the fans! Sometimes, they can make something much higher quality than the official products, whether it be a game or a mod. We also saw community mods end up getting officially supported and included. Now, people want to recreate Star Wars Battlefront‘s forgotten third installment.

Free Radical (TimeSplitters!) wasn’t able to finish development, so a Russian team, Frontwire Studios tries to do so with Unreal Engine 4. Their project is called Galaxy in Turmoil, and you can take a look at it on ModDB.

The team has to rely on the leaked gameplay videos of the cancelled game. There will be another obstacle, though – this one will interrupt, or possibly even halt development.

We’re talking about Electronic Arts and Disney. As Frontwire doesn’t own the Star Wars license, plus they plan to give the game out for free, the two companies will get involved later on. If not, we’ll be eager to see how far the Russians can get. The videos show early stages of development, but you have to start out somewhere…
