Call of Duty Black Ops III – Biggest entertainment launch of 2015

Who would have thought? Call of Duty sells like hot cakes. However, we did not expect it to happen in this size: Black Ops III, which was developed by Treyarch, brought an insane amount of money to both the devs and the publisher Activision.

The game now holds the most successful entertainment launch of 2015, as it earned over 550 million US dollars in the first three days, beating home the previous record holder Jurassic World and its 511 million dollar result. Unbelievable. Not to mention the fact that the players have already spent over 75 million hours in the game! Activision states that this game had a much better launch than 2013’s Ghosts and 2014’s Advanced Warfare.

One more record for the game, which is good for Sony too: this game is now the best-selling digital game on launch day. If you add the fact that the game has a limited edition PlayStation 4 bundle too with its 1 terabyte hard drive space, you can expect some more excellent results hardware-wise as well…
