There’s going to be a Borderlands movie!

If there’s a popular game, there is a big chance that eventually it will get a movie adaptation (which can end up a terrible move, especially in the hands of some directors), so while it might be initially surprising to see Borderlands getting a movie adaptation, it’s not a farfetched idea…

Lionsgate have teamed up with Take-Two Interactive and Gearbox to get this movie done, its producers will be Avi and Ari Arad. The game itself is quite popular, because since the launch of the first game in 2009, Borderlands have shipped 26 million copies and 8 million of it was shipped just in the fiscal year of 2015 (so since the month of April) – this is a great result.

You might have seen Avi and Ari Arad’s work earlier, because in the past roughly two decades, they worked on the Blade, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Spiderman and X-Men movies. We’re going to be interested to see what they can make with this franchise, because it’s a sci-fi, RPG first person shooter after all. The results will be seen in a few years, because the deal was just announced… so until then, we wait. (At least the upcoming Deadpool movie looks very promising until then.)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
