Street Fighter V: Capcom Responds To In-Game Advertising! [VIDEO]

The players don’t like how Street Fighter V (: Arcade Edition) includes ads.

On December 11, Capcom‘s fighting game got an update where advertising is placed on stages, loading screens and character models – this can be turned off. Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter‘s executive producer, has responded on Twitter: „We value and thank our community for providing feedback on the new sponsored content feature added to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition this week. We will continue collecting everyone’s feedback to consider how we can improve this new feature for players in the future.” However, the problem is that Street Fighter V is not a free-to-play game. If it were, then advertising would be acceptable, but we’re talking about a paid title…

Capcom announced that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is going to get its fourth season. Its first character is Kage, who can be purchased separately for six dollars or 100K Fight Money (in-game currency). His moveset resembles Evil Ryu’s (from who he became a real character), but due to Satsui no Hado, the shadow (Kage means shadow in Japanese) is more aggressive and different than Evil Ryu was. The character is already available.

But still, why put ads in a paid game?
