Star Citizen Crosses The 200 Million-Dollar Line Of Backing!

The game is one of the most ambitious ones ever, which is a double-edged sword: it might become one of the most legendary titles, but it also could turn out to be a significant disaster!

The game’s crowdfunding site was screencapped by WCCFTech when it reached 200 million dollars. This unbelievable amount of money was provided by 2,121,314 backers – in average; one backer has given 94 dollars to Roberts Space Industries/Cloud Imperium Games to create this space MMO. It’s an outstanding budget for a game that has been in development for at least six years…

Star Citizen celebrates it (as well as the completion of the first explorable planet called Hurston) by allowing us to try all the ships in the game next week. From November 23, from 8 PM PST, for 24 hours, a different ship maker’s line-up will be available to use in space. All we have to do is register on RSI‘s website to access the client when the time is right.

However, nor Star Citizen, neither its single-player spin-off, Squadron 42, has release dates…

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
