The Walking Dead: The Final Season: Skybound Is Not Giving Up!

Skybound‘s CEO, Ian Howe, has held his Reddit Ask-Me-Anything, and he shared a few thoughts about the status of The Walking Dead’s final season – as we promised, we’re looking into the new details.

Howe revealed that developing the game at the moment is legally complicated. Thus, the third episode, which was almost completed by Telltale before their abrupt closure, is now in a development halt. Therefore, it has no release date, but Howe „fully expects” it to be available by the end of this year.

The fourth, final episode was only in a pre-production phase, which means there will be a lot to do with it, which is why Howe said he has contacted over forty ex-Telltale members to help finish the game. They would like to wrap up Clementine’s story, but, again, there are legal complications. If these are out of the way, Howe will try to offer them a reasonable deal, as he thinks the series will only be ended on a high note if the original team is behind it.

He also said that The Walking Dead: The Final Season should return to PlayStation Store/Microsoft Store/Steam/Nintendo eShop by the end of October, and he also revealed that he is looking for a place for the developers to work in, as Skybound is located in Los Angeles, while Telltale was in the Bay Area in San Francisco.

Skybound Games, which is owned by The Walking Dead‘s creator Robert Kirkman, is eager to wrap up the story, and in the right way, too.
