PlayStation Classic: The PS1 Gets A Mini Adaptation! [VIDEO]

Sony follows Nintendo, SEGA, and SNK’s footsteps.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation Classic, a mini PlayStation (codenamed SCPH-1000R), which will have two controllers (without analogue sticks?), a manual, an HDMI cable and a USB cable. However, you will have to get a USB AC adapter yourself, which is somewhat cheap on Sony’s end.

The console will be sold in a packaging resembling the original PS1’s box, and it will be way smaller than the original PlayStation (45% by size, 80% by volume), and it will include twenty pre-installed games. Only five were announced, they are Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash!, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms – some titles will include local multiplayer, which is why you’ll get two controllers.

The PlayStation Classic will launch on December 3 worldwide, for 99 dollars/euros. (The PS1 initially launched in Japan on this day in 1994!) We have two questions, though: one, why don’t we get a USB AC adapter in the box, and two, why isn’t the complete game list announced?
