MOVIE NEWS – Although we’ve been waiting for almost a decade for Sony to progress with the official Uncharted cinematic adaptation finally, others also try bringing the franchise to the screen…

Canadian Allan Ungar (Tapped Out, Gridlock, to name a few) was the co-writer and the director of this quarter-hour long Uncharted fan film, where Nathan Fillion took the primary role. (You may have heard him as Cayde-6 in Destiny, or as Sterling in Cars 3, as two recent examples.)

Fillion was a perfect choice: the actor resembles Nathan Drake a lot, and his sarcastic one-liners also fit the role, proven by the video embedded below. Sure, the film isn’t mostly composed of fisticuffs or gunfights, the games themselves are also primarily relying on the dialogues and the characters’ evolution, so we understand the approach.

May this small film be an alarm bell for Sony: it’s about time to provide some information about the official Uncharted movie because at the moment, the Ungar/Fillion duo while respecting the franchise, run circles around Sony and Naughty Dog…
