Another Nail In The PlayStation Vita’s Coffin!

If you still doubted Sony‘s motives, you should be convinced by now.

Kotaku received an email, in which Sony Interactive Entertainment told developers the bad news: by the end of the 2018 fiscal year, the PlayStation Vita‘s game cards’ manufacturing will be stopped in North America and Europe!

The 2018 fiscal year will end on March 31, 2019, which means the developers will have a few more months to sort out some production, but after that, it’s going to be digital distribution only, unless companies like Limited Run pick up small-scale physical manufacturing. The developers must submit all their physical code requests by June 28, and their final purchase orders (for production) by February 15.

Sony already confirmed this information to Kotaku, which means it’s not a rumor anymore. Sure, the PS Vita is over six years old, but the handheld doesn’t deserve such a way to die…
