Deus Ex Is Not Dead, Says Eidos Montreal [VIDEO]

The studio didn’t abandon the franchise.

Deus Ex doesn’t show signs of life recently – after Mankind Divided, which launched in August 2016 with sales below expectations, there was nothing happening around the franchise, and its developer, Eidos Montreal officially moved on to work on an Avengers game, as Disney struck a deal with Square Enix.

David Anfossi, the head of the studio, said the following in the video below: „Deus Ex is here. We did not forget Deus Ex, we built the studio with this franchise. We gave out blood, sweat, everything to reboot this franchise and be true to it, so it’s not dead. It’s not dead.”

Of course, words mean nothing if they don’t actually develop something; Eidos Montreal is now working on Shadow of the Tomb Raider with a bit of help from Crystal Dynamics (the previous developer), and that game will launch on September 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
