Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life: A Ton Of Gameplay And New Details! [VIDEO]

SEGA provided a lengthy, English language gameplay video for Yakuza 6, which will arrive shortly in the Western region of the world.

Watch the video from 01:05:34 below, as until then, Sam Mullen and Scott Strichart, SEGA‘s localization producers, were playing Yakuza Kiwami. They also revealed that the original Japanese version’s sexy chat minigame would not be cut from the Western edition – the only reason it did not show up in the minigame trailer the last time was that it didn’t fit the video. While this minigame has no nudity, it still has an adult approach…

The Western version will be slightly modified, though: SEGA couldn’t get one of the characters’ shoes’ rights, which means they will be changed (for example, a stripe was removed). The duo also introduced Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown port, which will be fully playable in Kamurocho’s arcades, and it, along with Puyo Puyo, will both have couch co-op! (Not bad!)

There will be a slight addition to loading screens in the West: there will be roughly sixty tooltips on them to explain the vocabulary or the background, as Japanese players could easily understand them (they got Yakuza 6 a long time ago!), while us Westerners likely wouldn’t. This is a good idea.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which will launch on March 20, will also support the PlayStation 4 Pro with a more stable frame rate and better reflections and puddles. SEGA shows how you should localize a game for the Western audience!
