Railway Empire Gets A Release Date: First-Gen Trains For Everyone! [VIDEO]

A tycoon simulator… with not complete originality!

If you hear the name Kalypso, you’d likely immediately respond with Tropico (which has its sixth game in development right now) – however, it’s time for something else. They will be the publisher of Railway Empire, which is developed by Gaming Minds Studios (Patrician IV, Grand Ages: Medieval) for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, set between 1830 and 1930 when the United States was expanding towards the Pacific coast. The game reminds us of Sid Meier’s Railroad Tycoon, though…

Railway Empire will not have multiplayer support, but it will offer mods via Steam Workshop, which will „change existing scenarios and stats from trains, techs and economy system,” according to a press release. Will these be available on consoles, too?

The release date will be January 26 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC – pre-ordering will earn you access to a closed beta. Until then, a video from Gamescom.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
