Humble Bundle Has Been Acquired!

The company that takes over might sound quite familiar to the readers.

The announcement came on the Humble Blog that the site, which was founded in 2010, offering PC (and sometimes console) games in bundles for low costs, giving part of the revenue to charity, is now acquired by another company. Its name is IGN Entertainment. Yep, you read that right: IGN bought Humble Bundle!

Jeffrey Rosen, co-founder of Humble, says that IGN will help the company to „promote awesome digital content while helping charity.” „We chose IGN because they understand our vision, share our passion for games, and believe in our mission,” he said.

On Gamasutra, we read that IGN doesn’t want to change how Humble Bundle and Humble Store works. IGN‘s executive vice president, Mitch Galbraith follows the „if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach. „The idea is just to feed them with the resources they need to keep doing what they’re doing,” he said.

Hopefully, we won’t be seeing any negative changes!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
