Another surprising announcement at the Tokyo Game Show: Zone of the Enders is getting a facelift!

The game showed up during Sony’s press conference. Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – MARS is jointly developed by Konami and Cygames. The latter team has previously worked on a few mobile games. The updated version of Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner will offer a 4K resolution, new sound design with surround sound, as well as PlayStation VR support. It’s weird that the second game is getting moved over from the PS2 instead of the first one. Shouldn’t the first Zone of the Enders get the treatment first?

Still, the game is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC, and it will launch worldwide in spring 2018. Konami doesn’t want to leave Hideo Kojima’s work behind at all (they are also working on Metal Gear: Survive…).
