Code Vein: New Details About The Stylish Action-RPG

The team behind Shift (God Eater) doesn’t want to make an anime game.

Japanese magazine Famitsu did an interview with the developers, and it was translated by Kite Stenbuck, and via the post, we learned that Shift doesn’t want to do nor an anime, neither a realistic game. Code Vein, which is using Unreal Engine 4, wants to find a middle ground between the two. The team wants to create visuals that a significant amount of the Western audience can accept. However, it took the team over a year (!) to find their current approach, and they also had to fine tune the graphics within Unreal Engine 4 to get what they wanted to show us.

We also know that the first „promotional video” (probably a CG trailer) is going to come in May by Bandai Namco. Code Vein is slated for a 2018 release on „major home consoles,” and maybe the PC, too. A few images:
