Here’s How Sony Santa Monica’s Cancelled Game Could Have Looked

The God of War developers’ deleted PlayStation 4 project leaked via a few concept arts.

Sony’s Santa Monica studio was working on a PS4-exclusive sci-fi project, which had an ominous codename: Darkside. You could have found a teaser of it in God of War: Ascension, but other than that, the game was mysterious big time until now.

Nerdleaks found out about the game’s concept art on Erik San Juan graphical artist’s website. He worked on this game, as he was at Sony Santa Monica until his 2014 departure.

Darkside could have been a futuristic game with a possible setting in 2034, and it could have had a few (?) weird things: mutant fish-like humanoid creatures, drones, something like a Kraken, dinosaur-like enemies… so let’s just say that it could have been an insane game if Sony didn’t cancel it after reportedly spending 100 million dollars on the project.

A similarity to Destiny and Horizon Zero Dawn was also cited as a reason behind the cancelation of Darkside. You can check out a gallery here.

  1. Game of Trolls says:

They probably cancelled it because it was already similar to horizon zero dawn’s concept art by Guerrilla games.
