The Rayman Game That We Could Never Play!

Michel Ancel found a Rayman game that never got finished in its original format.

Ancel, who’s currently working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 (as well as WILD, which has been in the shadows for a year now), has found Rayman… on the Super Nintendo. He was happy to see the game work flawlessly, and he shared a few pictures of the prototype which runs at sixty frames per second, too. Whether he was joking or not, he mentioned that he should do a Nintendo Switch version of this game. (Why not? After all, the concept, as well as most of the design is his work…)

Unseen64 says that this game was planned to be a two-player coop title, but Ubisoft decided to push Rayman over to the next console generation (such as the first PlayStation), and he launched in September 1995 in the end.

Ancel should consider updating the „number zero” Rayman game to make it available digitally on a few platforms. We’d not reject that idea.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
