Battlefield 1: Which Console Got The Better Port? [VIDEO]

A small comparison video arrived – it’s time to put Battlefield 1‘s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version side-by-side!

DigitalFoundry found out that the two consoles went for two different goals. The PlayStation 4 version’s maximum resolution is 1824×1026, and due to the dynamic resolution, the „bottom” is 1600×900 pixels. On the Xbox One, 1600×900 is the maximum, but in return, Microsoft’s console offers a stable frame rate for the heroes of World War I. The duel was barely won by the PlayStation 4.

It seems that DICE is continuing the „sacrificing the resolution to provide a higher frame rate” approach on the Xbox One, which might catch up to the PlayStation 4 over the next years, even if its sales are still a long way behind. (The PS3 could pull it off, though – it took time for the developers to learn the secrets of the Cell processor…)

Battlefield 1 launched on Friday, and our review will be up shortly. We need to stop coughing from all the gas we took…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
