Telltale Presents Crowd Play!

We will get the opportunity to play Telltale’s games with some friends, with their opinion being a key element in the gameplay, and its decisions.

During San Diego Comic-Con, Telltale announced that Crowd Play, a new function will launch shortly. With it, our friends, family members, or a bigger crowd will be able to have a say in our choices.

We don’t even have to wait that much to see it launch, as BatmanThe Telltale Series will be the first game to implement Crowd Play, and that title launches on August 2! At the beginning of each game, we will get the option to turn Crowd Play on. If we switch it on, we will get a URL that we can share with the crowd.

Crowd Play will offer two modes: one allows the crowd’s decision to be the final say, the other allows the player to override the will of the masses. Crowd players will be able to choose one of the four dialogue options. These will then be tallied live in the form of percentages, letting the us immediately what everyone thinks should be done. They will also be able to give thumbs up or thumbs down responses to various actions we are taking, again offering more feedback.  As with previous games, players will also get a recap at the end of the game on how others have played and the decisions they made, but now with the addition of how the voting went in Crowd Play games.

There is a potential for streamers to implement this as well, but right now latency issues make it more difficult, with the thumbs up/thumbs down approach being the most viable at the moment. But as technology progress and latency becomes less of an issue, the full experience would work quite well.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
