Suicide Squad May Have More Batman Than What You Might Think

MOVIE NEWS – Warner Bros. is apparently moving forward Batman to be a central character of the DCEU. Not only did he stole the show in the Man of Steel sequel with Batman v Superman, but he’s also the one that brings the squad together in Justice League Part 1, and Warner reportedly wants to get an Untitled Batman Reboot in theaters as well. While he already dominated the whole movie in this March’s Dawn of Justice, he’ll be back to action in just six short months with a Suicide Squad cameo. But it seems that Bruce Wayne’s appearance might be even more substantial than it was originally assumed.

During the shooting of Suicide Squad, some “paparazzi” photos from the set revealed that Ben Affleck would appear as Batman, pursuing The Joker’s purple sports car, even hopping on top of it. But that very chase is not the only Dark Knight shots the movie apparently contains. And some audiences at a recent test screening were indulged to this extended appearance.

As you may have may be heard, Suicide Squad is currently undertaking some reshoots to add some much-needed humor, fan service, and a lot more action. At the same time, Warner Bros. has started to test screen a new cut of the movie. While there is no word on the film’s story or how it plays, those who’ve seen it claim Batman makes his presence known. This news was actually revealed on Heroic Hollywood. Here’s what host Umberto Gonzalez had to say.

“The film was tested recently; they had test screenings, and according to sources, check this out, there is a lot more Batman in the movie than they are letting on.”

Many believed that every Batman sections were just part of a flashback which concerned the Clown Prince of Crime. When Ben Affleck was filming his scenes in Vancouver, both Jared Leto, who plays the Joker, and Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, were on the scene as well. This moment also appears in the Suicide Squad trailer.

In fact, more Batman presence at this very point makes actually perfect sense. Bruce Wayne is undoubtedly DC’s most admired character. And a lot of the villains in the movie come directly out of The Dark Knight‘s rogue gallery, and they are no stranger to Gotham. It also makes sense that Batman would be lurking about, as all of these bad guys are currently roaming free on the streets and not locked up in Jail or Arkham Asylum. Some speculate that Ben Affleck’s caped crusader has a ‘come to Jesus’ moment with Viola Davis’s Amanda Waller as her plan is revealed to the crime fighter.

Batman is the building block of the DCEU. Don’t be surprised to hear Warner Bros. announce that the Untitled Batman Reboot is taking the October 5, 2018, release date slot they staked a claim in earlier this week. It’s also heavily speculated that Suicide Squad 2 will make the recently announced November 2019 date. So, what do you think? Are you elated that Suicide Squad has more Batman? Or do you feel this is all just a ruse to get waning interest and eyes pulled back on what Warner Bros. is trying to accomplish with the DCEU? Sound off in the comments below.
