PlayStation VR: A short presentation [VIDEO]

Sony shows a small, to-the-point presentation for the upcoming – probably already development-finished – virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR, formerly known as Project Morpheus. While there still isn’t a fixed release date, it is expected to launch in the first half of 2016.

There were already talks about the pricing, saying it will cost as much as „a new gaming platform”, but this happened before the worldwide PS4 price cut, so it can cost either 350 or 400 dollars in the future.
The PlayStation VR will have a 5.7 inch OLED display with a 1920xRGBx1080 resolution (or 960xRGBx1080 per eye). The refresh rate will be 120 hertz with a < 18 msec latency.

That means we can see – or live – the games in 120 frames per second. Gyroscope, accelerometer, an approximately 100 degree field of view, and a full head tracking with 9 LED sensors. 3D audio with mic and stereo input jacks, and HDMI and USB interfaces allowing output to TV as well as headset. At least 53 games are in development in progress and these are just the confirmed titles.

Looking good so far.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
